I remember a segment from a late night talk show. ...Paraphrasing here... The show's host said something like, you've taken away everything that man has done and reduced its significance. What can I do to change this? In response Sagan said, "Do something significant." He had a great, dry sense of life. He changed the way we looked at our world. His passing was a huge loss.

I don't know how many people I hear saying that kids need calculators to do simple math these days. I love it when I see things like this that denounce such comments. Great stuff! The future is brighter than many think.

The PC market is truly a wild thing. The mainstream standard vs. the creative underground (less so these days, but still quietly advancing the art).

The magician that "drops" their head into their hands at what appears to be waist level is incredible. I've watched it a couple of times. Flawless.

There's nothing like witnessing the skillfulness of a WWII fighter pilot from those days. You get a sense for the newness of this type of flying, and how people pushed the limits of what was known about it, while trying to save their own tail. Instinct was all they had many times.
